Kurt and Brenda WarnerThe retired football star not only has the desire to be a humanitarian, he possesses the ability to get his message across to the masses as well.

Leading the Rams to that long elusive Super Bowl victory, and taking the Cardinals to within minutes of winning one of their own, Kurt Warner has earned the respect and praise of both players and fans alike. He was a true sportsman on the field, but he is perhaps even better known today for his off the field work with various organizations around the communities dotting the Arizona landscape.

This was all made possible without taxpayers having to pay one penny, which speaks to Warner’s power to raise money for good causes.

Having a burning desire to help young people with developmental disabilities, Warner and his wife, Brenda, have long been active in the community. They are vocal advocates for a variety of causes. Their philanthropic work began in the city of St. Louis, where Warner led the Rams to a Super Bowl back in 1999, and continues throughout the Phoenix area today, where he eventually retired a few years ago. Warner is a regular fixture at youth sports fundraisers, lending his name and his talent to a variety of causes.

Forming his own foundation, the First Thing First Foundation, Kurt Warner has been able to raise millions of dollars through the years, not only to support a variety of organizations, but to provide needed capital to finance building projects as well. One of his dream projects was the development of a mixed use facility that could provide retail units, multi-family housing, and facilities equipped to handle high functioning individuals who have any of a number of types of developmental disabilities. This was all made possible without taxpayers having to pay one penny, which speaks to Warner’s power to raise money for good causes.

He has long expressed a burning desire to help those less fortunate in society, and has put that put that passion into action.

While he gave back a great deal when he played for the St. Louis Rams and the Arizona Cardinals alike, he has openly confessed that he is now able to do much more that he is retired.   Although the itch to return to the field remains, rather than sit back and enjoy his money, some would say that his philanthropic work today keeps him busier than when he threw a football for a living. He has long expressed a burning desire to help those less fortunate in society, and has put that put that passion into action. Because of his name recognition, and his solid reputation throughout many segments of society, his various charities have thrived in the years following retirement.

What is unique about Warner is that he not only has the desire to be a humanitarian; he possesses the ability to get his message across to the masses. His wife has stood beside him through all of his various endeavors as well, making it truly a family affair. He is, for example, involved in the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and has even started his own work to that end. Each year, for example, he selects 10 families who have children with a life threatening illness in either Arizona or St. Louis and takes them to Disney World for a week. This is a consistent event that he looks forward to; and he has no plans of stopping anytime soon.
